Data comes from Open-Meteo's free air-quality model (CAMS), fetched directly by your browser; your coordinates go to that service only for the query and are never stored by this site. Model data is a high-quality estimate for your grid cell — a monitoring station across the street may read somewhat differently, especially during local events like fires.

What do the AQI categories mean?

0–50 Good, 51–100 Moderate, 101–150 Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups, 151–200 Unhealthy, 201–300 Very Unhealthy, 301+ Hazardous. Above 100, people with asthma or heart conditions should limit prolonged outdoor exertion.

Why does it differ from my weather app?

Different sources: some apps read the nearest ground station, this tool uses the CAMS atmospheric model for your exact grid cell. Both are legitimate; stations win right next to the sensor, models win where no station exists.

Is my location stored?

No — it is sent only to the Open-Meteo API to answer the query, directly from your browser. This site's server never sees it, and nothing is saved.
