Working Days, Not Just Days

Pick a start and end date: the tool counts the business days between them, skipping Saturdays, Sundays and US federal holidays (New Year's Day, MLK Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and the rest). The holidays that fall inside your range are listed by name, so you can see exactly which days were excluded.

Holiday data comes from the free Nager.Date service, fetched by your browser per year and cached. Deadlines, delivery estimates, payroll cut-offs, "10 business days" refund windows — this answers them with the calendar's actual working days, including observed dates when a holiday lands on a weekend.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are both the start and end dates counted?

The count includes the end date but not the start date — the standard convention for "X business days from now". If your context counts both endpoints, add one when the start date itself is a business day.

Are state holidays or company closures included?

No — only federal holidays, which is what banks, federal offices and most national deadlines observe. State-specific holidays (e.g. Patriots' Day) vary and are not part of the federal list.

What about holidays observed on a different day?

When a federal holiday falls on a weekend, the observed weekday (Friday or Monday) is what the data reflects — matching how offices actually close.
