Method 1: Bookmark (recommended)
- On a computer (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari), open instagram.com and log in.
- If the bookmarks bar is hidden, show it with Ctrl+Shift+B (Mac: ⌘+Shift+B).
- Drag the blue button below onto your bookmarks bar.
- While on the Instagram tab, click the new bookmark. The scan starts and the list opens when it is done.
Method 2: Console
With instagram.com open, press F12 (Mac: ⌘+⌥+J) to open the Console, paste the code and press Enter. If Chrome blocks pasting, type allow pasting first.
Heads up: Instagram may temporarily block actions if you unfollow too many accounts too fast — stay under a few dozen a day. Automation tools may be against Instagram's Terms of Use; use at your own risk. Desktop browsers only.
How It Works
This tool is a small script that runs inside the Instagram tab you already have open. It reads your own followers and following lists page by page through the same endpoints the Instagram website itself uses, compares the two and shows every account you follow that is missing from your followers. Each row has an Unfollow button; once pressed it turns into Follow again so a mistake is easy to undo.
Because the script runs on instagram.com with the session you are already logged into, it never asks for your password and nothing passes through 6XC. The code is shown in full on this page, so you can read exactly what it does before running it.
What to Know
Instagram watches for bursts of unfollows. The tool spaces out its requests, takes pauses during long scans and enforces a few seconds between unfollows, but the safest habit is still to go slowly — a few dozen unfollows a day, spread over several days for long lists. If Instagram returns an action block, the buttons lock automatically; wait a few hours before trying again.
- Nothing is unfollowed automatically — every unfollow is a click you make yourself.
- The last scan is saved in your browser, so you can reopen the list without scanning again.
- Instagram changes its website from time to time; if the tool stops working, check back for an update.

How long does a scan take?
A few hundred accounts take about a minute. With thousands of accounts it can take several minutes, because the script pauses regularly so Instagram does not rate-limit you.
I unfollowed the wrong person — what now?
After you press Unfollow the button turns into Follow again. Press it to undo; for private accounts a new follow request is sent.
