Words per Minute, Two Speeds

Adults read silently at ~200-250 words per minute; a 1,500-word article is a 6-8 minute read (the number blogs put next to titles). Speaking runs much slower: ~130 wpm for a clear presentation pace — the same 1,500 words fill an 11-12 minute talk.
