Weighted Average, Done Right
A course grade is rarely a plain average: homework might count 20%, quizzes 15%, the midterm 25% and the final 40%. The weighted grade is Σ(grade × weight) ÷ Σ(weight). Enter each component's grade and weight — if your weights don't sum to 100 (say, the final hasn't happened yet), the tool normalizes by the entered total, which equals your current standing on graded work.

My weights only add to 60 — is the result meaningful?
Yes: dividing by the entered total (60) gives your average on the work graded so far. It is exactly the "current grade" you would plug into a final grade calculator.
Can I mix percentage grades and points?
Keep one scale throughout. If assignments are scored in points, convert each to a percentage first (earned ÷ possible × 100), then weight them.
What letter grade is my result?
On the common US scale: 90+ A range, 80-89 B, 70-79 C, 60-69 D, below 60 F — but syllabi differ, so check your course's cutoffs.
